This functionality is a result of your ability to tune into that “larger” part of yourself, your energetic self, that is in full “all knowing” functionality, where the use of mathematical formulae is not a prerequisite for answering mathematics questions, or indeed, any questions. I would not expect your guides (guardian angel) to be involved, only your energetic self. Consider Fermat’s theorem. It took a Professor of maths (Andrew Wiles) 10-12 years and 3 separate forms of maths, one only invented by a Japanese mathematician in the final year of his (Wiles) research, to proove. Fermat was obviously in contact with his energetic self, Wiles was not. Keep using this faculty, it will expand into unlimited possibilities with continued use.

Here’s my story – Aged about 13 My maths teacher gave us the question for homework ‘If the diameter of a circle is ‘such & such’, what does the circumferance measure? At home, I took out my exercise book and started working it out………my head kept telling me what to do next………..after about 10 pages of ‘ifs’ and ‘therefores’ I finally reached the answer. At the next maths lesson, the teacher called me out and askedme who had helped me do the homework. ‘Nobody’..I replied. ‘Weren’t you here when we did ‘pi? she asked. ‘No!’I replied. Totally mystified, she shook her head and said ‘But you got it right!’ With the magic of ‘pi’ it would have taken two lines to get the answer to the question. Instead, my head worked through it without ‘pi’. I guess my Guardian Angel was pretty good at maths.
